Lightspace has overcome core technical challenges to achieve dual compatibility between lightweight design and high performance for high-power laser projectors
Jul 29,2026
Within the professional outdoor laser projector industry, lightweight construction and superior performance have long been mutually exclusive priorities. Reducing equipment weight inevitably shrinks internal space, which tends to cause cramped optical pathways, insufficient heat dissipation and diminished structural stability. These issues ultimately degrade lighting effects and shorten the service life of devices. After multiple rounds of simulation calculations and prototype testing, the R&D team at Lightspace has achieved a technological breakthrough with the all-new Unicorn 100 ultra-lightweight waterproof laser projector, delivering lighter weight without compromised quality and compact dimensions without sacrificed stability.
According to the R&D team, the iteration of the Unicorn 100 full-color laser projector is not a mere reduction in the thickness or material of the outer casing. Instead, it features a top-to-bottom systematic reconstruction of the entire unit. Drawing on years of accumulated expertise in optical engine development, the team rearranged the layout of laser light sources, galvanometer modules, heat dissipation air ducts and power supply assemblies. While cutting the overall unit volume by 10%, the airflow circulation heat dissipation route was refined to eliminate heat accumulation issues triggered by the compact chassis. The equipment frame is constructed from high-strength lightweight alloy materials: its total weight is lowered by 16% to 34 kilograms, yet load-bearing capacity, impact resistance and waterproof sealing performance remain fully intact.
The most pivotal technical insistence lies in the complete retention of the core optical system. Key specifications including the beam divergence angle, high-speed galvanometer scanning response speed and rated laser output power are all inherited from the proven high-performance configuration of the previous generation. No compromises have been made in the sharpness of light beams, fluidity of dynamic imagery or clarity of long-distance projection, thoroughly breaking the industry’s long-standing stereotype that lightweight design equates to degraded performance.
Furthermore, the structural optimization of this 100W laser projector delivers remarkable additional benefits. Its compact chassis fits a wider range of special installation scenarios, while the lighter body drastically lowers the barriers for transportation and hoisting. The comprehensive costs covering transportation, installation, operation and maintenance across the entire equipment lifecycle are substantially reduced.
From dedicated research into stage and outdoor laser lighting technologies to continuous iteration upgrading of user experience, Lightspace consistently drives technological R&D based on real application scenario demands. Going forward, the brand will keep focusing on the lightweight and intelligent development of high-power waterproof laser devices. Through precision industrial design, Lightspace will keep advancing the domestic professional lighting hardware technology ecosystem.
